Antonio Corriga was born in Atzara (Nuoro) in 1923.
Painter, watercolorist, printmaker, sculptor and ceramist.
He had an initial art education from the renowned German painter Richard Scheurlen, who spent many years working to Atzara and other Sardinian villages.
In spite of his good pictorial compositions, Corriga's core and remarkable production was dedicated to social issues of particular relevance in Sardinia and in particular in the zone of Oristano. In the whole of his vast and remarkable production, particular importance is assumed by the large altarpieces executed for the St. Sebastiano church of Oristano, for the Chapel of Cottolengo in Fordongianus, for Atzara's church, as well as the one executed for the Basilica of Cagliari.
