Dino Francesco Fantini was born in the month of May of 1913 in Cagliari, the city where he lived and worked for a long time.
Fantini began studying art under the guidance of the sculptor Francesco Ciusa , drawing and modeling the nude.
At only 18 he won the 1st Prize at the National Exhibition in Rome for young artists, but he achieved his artistic maturity at the Art School in Rome
From 1937 until his death , he exhibited in Italy's major cities, in Sardinia and abroad , in various solo and group exhibitions of painting and engraving.
His works and portraits can be found in several public collections in Italy and abroad; Fantini has also executed several bronze monuments for cemeteries of Rome, Cagliari and other locations.
Among his public works are included:
-decorative panels at Auditorium of the Medical Clinic of Cagliari University;
- preparations for Teatro Alfieri in Cagliari;
-18 panels for S.Antioco's Primary School;
-atrium of  of Insurance's palace in Cagliari;
-the decorations of Sant'Elia's Church in Cagliari.
He died in 1981.
