Libero Meledina is considered the founder of Realism in Sardinia.
He was born in Sassari, where he has always lived and worked until his death.
He attended the art school in Sassari, the Higher Institute of Art in Monza and the Academy of Brera in Milan.
Over the years Meledina develops a  more personal type of painting wich represents its time style; the development of his thought brought Meledina to figures and images representing the passage of time, the upturn of men and social progress.
We find his works in public and private collections in Cagliari, Sassari, Nuoro, Oristano, Mantova, Genova, Napoli, Ferrara, Firenze, as well as in the U.S.A.
