Treccani Ernesto in 1938 at the age of eighteen founded and directed the magazine "Vita Giovanile", due to the economic opportunities and the trust given him by his father. "Vita Giovanile" soon becomes " Corrente di Vita Giovanile" and then the journal "Current",a tool to organize and express their political but also artistic ideas.
Treccani suddenly has to deal with the great characters of artistic scene, though young , belonging to a more mature generation of artists: in fact around his magazine meet artists like Birolli Migneco , Sassu , Argan , Ungaretti , Saba , De Grada , Quasimodo, Montale and others who influenced his artistic, cultural and political growth.
He attended the faculty of engineering at the time and that's why he was able to get in touch with the avant-garde movements of fascism.
Around 1940 he began to paint , and took part in the exhibition which takes place at the "Bottega di Corrente".
With the beginning of the war the publication of his journal is suppressed and as a response adheres to the Communist Party and became an activist.
In the postwar period , with the experience in the party and his new partisan friendships, joined the editorial staff of "The '45 " a journal in which writed, among others, Vittorini , Mario De Micheli and Raffaele De Grada.
 Next, always with the characters of the new establishment is distinguished within the group of "Pittura", in which take part well-known names as Ajmone , Chighine , Francese and Testori.
His first solo exhibition took place in 1949 at the Galleria del Milione.
In 1971 he was among the signatories of the document published in the weekly L'Espresso against the commissioner Luigi Calabresi.
In 1978 , in Milan , he founded the Foundation "Corrente", a program aimed at the study of the period between the birth of the movement "Corrente" and Realism years, in addition to the current culture debate. From November 2005, his work is promoted , valued and protected by the Committee for the Protection of the work of Ernesto Treccani , based at the Milan residence of the Maestro.
Ernesto Treccani died in Milan in November 2009
