Giovanni Cau from castelsardo was born in Ortueri (Nuoro) in 1933.

Student of some of the most illustrious Sardinian painters such as Dessy, Figari, and especially Constantino Spada, which discovers and understands his painting talent.

Known as Cau from Castelsardo, Giovanni Cau deserves to be considered among the leading exponents of Sardinian landscaper of this century, both because of the complexity and variety of issues, both for the continuity of his artistic career, started in the mid 50s.

Able to move between different formats and themes, we can admire the beautiful scenes of female nudes, work in the fields scenes, harvests and self-portraits. Painter to be considered among the most comprehensive in the contemporary scene.
