Masu Manlio was born in Olbia in October 24, 1935.
In 1955 he obtained a teaching degree in Nuoro. Pupil of Giovanni Ciusa Romagna in the subject of Design and Art History.
During the activity of elementary school teacher in several countries of the Province of Sassari, deepens as a self-taught the study of landscape painting.
In the early 60s he took part to exhibitions and art competitions, winning prizes and awards.
Since the 70s he exhibited with solo exhibitions in major galleries of Sassari , Nuoro, Cagliari, Reggio Emilia and Terni.
From the mid-'70s develops the theme of the female figure, often inserted in the landscape and in marine or interior scenes of intimate content. 
In 1977 he made on commission, "The Crucifixion", a monumental altarpiece of the church of St. John Bosco in Alghero; for the same church projected and executed in Verona the stained glass dome.
He realized on commision five large panels on the Passion and Resurrection of Jesus for the church of San Giovanni Battista in Nuoro. He designed the stained glass rose window in the facade of the church of San Bernardino in Mogo . In 2006 he painted one of 14 lunettes of the Library of St. Mary of Bethlehem in Sassari .
