 Pietro Antonio Manca was born in Sorso (Sassari) in 1892.
He widened his knowledge of art by visiting Rome, Florence, Milan and getting in touch with different cultural environments; in1928, some of his self-portraits were exhibited at the 1st Biennial Exhibition of Sardinian Art in Sassari; in 1931, he was present at the 1st Quadrennial Exhibition of National Art in Rome, and five of his oil paintings were also exhibited during the 2nd Quadrennial, in 1935; in 1936, he took part in the 20th Biennial Exhibition of International Art in Venice; in 1939, his works were present at the 10th Trade Union Exhibition of Art in Cagliari, and he also showed three of his works at the 3rd Quadrennial Exhibition of National Art in Rome; in 1948, he was present at the 5th Quadrennial of Rome; during the fifties and the sixties, he took part in various national and regional exhibitions; in 1972, he won the prize “Mario Sironi” for painting, in Cagliari.

He died in Sassari in 1975.
