Gianni Serra was born in Alghero in 1966. A painter, an illustrator, a portraitist, and a restorer, his way of painting and his lights are already very unique. He began to attend Maestro Elio Pulli's atelier, where he learned the use of colour and the Art of Restauration. His style is highly impressive, with confident brush strokes and a burst of warm colours typical of Sardinia, his region of origin. He has participated in several group exhibitions organised by Arte Spazio Gallery (Sassari, Bultei, Ozieri, Padru, Lecce, Bari, Monte Carlo-Lucca-). He has also had numerous solo exhibitions, the most prestigious of which was held at the Conferences Centre Hotel in Porto Cervo (Sardinia), where he exhibited a series of 12 large panels depicting the main Sardinian festivals for which he received excellent reviews. In 2007 he created for the Carlos V Hotel of Alghero 20 paintings (Indian ink technique) where he depicted King Charles V during his visiting trip to Alghero in 1542. In all major live painting exhibitions held in Sardinia his works have stood out and have received rave reviews and prestigious prizes, such as the First Prize at the "Memorial Peter Virdis" held in Sassari in 2004, the First Prize at the "Arte in Piazza- Giuseppe Biasi " event in Sassari in 2007, the First Prize at "Lights and colours" in Bono. In 2009 three of his works were exhibited at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, in 2011 he took part in a group exhibition in Hangzhou (Shanghai) in China, and in 2012 he exhibited in a group show held at Baccina 66 Gallery in Rome.
