Liliana Cano was born in Gorizia in 1924. She studied at the Accademia Albertina in Turin and she has achieved artistic maturity having Manzù and Casorati as teachers.

She started exhibiting in Rome, Florence, Avellino ,Brescia, and in many other Sardinian towns, such as Nuoro, Sassari, Olbia and Cagliari. She had taking part in various group exhibitions, in Padova in 1944 and Bologna in 1948. In the mid-40, Liliana Cano come back in Sassari where she teaches drawing and she has partecipated in the artistic life of the city with other painters such as Stanis Dessy, Libero Meledina, Costantino Spada, Pietro Antonio Manca and Ausonio Tanda. In 1978 in Cagliari Liliana Cano received the prestigious Special Award for artistic activity by the President of the Republic. Then she went to Barcelona, where she stops to work falling in love with the city. However, the real artistic life of Liliana Cano was in France, where she lived for twenty years in different cities : Arles, Istres, Marsiglia, Parigi, Avignone, Tolone. She has partecipated in several group exhibitions throughout Europe : Marsiglia, Parigi, Cannes, Monaco, Raastadt, Amsterdam, Barcellona and San Pietroburgo.
